Black Crouchman & Co - Professional Legal Services for People and Business
Process Serving
Two questions form the basis of an initial enquiry from the majority of clients; can we help in serving the process and how much will we charge?
On the first question the answer is yes in every case and we will endeavour to achieve the desired result. Where we are unable to serve personally, we are normally able to compile sufficient information to support an application for substituted service.
On the second question, we normally work on time and mileage basis. This usually gives some idea of the extent of the final invoice. However, there are obviously times when the client needs to know exactly how much it will cost and to this end we are prepared to work for any reasonable set fee.
Our aim is to provide a speedy and efficient service at a reasonable price. In a lot of cases we are able to serve on first visit which obviously keeps the costs down and dispels any worries in respect of time schedules.
Whether it be High Court, County Court, Magistrates Court or Insolvency Process we are well versed and able to deal with your requirements.
The experience built up over many years of serving process has taught us that there is never any such thing as an easy service, only less difficult ones. We are well aware that in many instances those persons upon whom service is required may attempt to avoid us and we are wise to many of the antics used to this end.
Service upon Members of HM Armed Forces
Various protocols and directions from the lord Chancellor's office govern the service of any document on any member of HM armed forces. Being the large garrison town that Colchester is, we are highly experienced in dealing with this type of service.
Overseas Process
On numerous occasions in the past, we have been able to assist client solicitors serve process overseas by engaging the services of an agent in a particular country. Our extensive records contain details of competent agents throughout the world.
